Welcome to Guitar Beginners,

Hi, my name is Steve Luff, I am a professional musician who resides in Stafford, Staffordshire.

You can regularly find me gigging around the UK – playing my own blend of soulful music and acoustic blues guitar in some of the UK’s top Jazz & Blues venues (see more).

When not performing I work from home as a private music tutor. I primarily teach guitar but also teach banjo, chromatic harmonica, ukulele & piano.

All ages and abilities welcome, I have a full DBS certificate & an experienced background in teaching spanning over 17 years. I not only teach complete beginners but all levels of ability drawing on my 20+ years of playing and performing.

I teach quality, fun and professional lessons from my home in Stafford. Many of my face to face students are local and reside around Stafford, Stone, Cannock, Rugeley, Eccleshall & Penkridge. I also teach students from all over the UK and the world online.

As a teacher my ethos is to inject heart & soul into every aspect of learning, helping students to surprise themselves at their hidden talents and giving them more than just the basics to go and practice after every lesson.

I have never met anybody who is unable to play an instrument & I will always strive to make learning as enjoyable and fun as possible.

Working Musician

My experiences as a professional musician have really shaped my teaching style. Everything I have learned over 20+ years of playing is passed onto my students.

I play and teach a vast range of styles including acoustic, electric, classical & slide. I teach all genre’s of music including folk, jazz, reggae, rock & everything else in-between. A specialist in finger style blues guitar, many of my students seek me out for this knowledge.

My Teaching Room

This is my teaching room. It provides my students a cosy & creative environment free from distraction. I start teaching from 8am and finish around 8pm during weekdays. I reserve my weekends for performing.

In the past I have worked in formal education including schools and colleges. I have also delivered freelance educational workshops in music and media across Staffordshire. I have professional teaching qualifications and a full DBS.
